.. It was the eighties,  I was doing everything, anything and anybody I could.. responded to an ad in the Trentonian for a piano player... Bobby (Roberto Figueroa) had a Latin band. He worked as the executive chef at the local Marriot on Route 1 which was a happening joint... He was from Puerto Rico but was just transferred from the Honolulu Marriot. He managed to work and record with Errol Garner as percussionist in Hawaii ... he had five sons, they all played percussion. They were good. He had a good working relationship with Chico Mendoza who would expose us to some heavy rehearsal orchestras at the Puerto Rican Social Club on Broad Street, Trenton. ... I remember we had an incredible flute player, Rich Cooper who came down from New York and an unbelievable bass player named Amos .. Bobby was an inspiration, a great teacher, musician, and mentor .. the flow ..
